Settling in

Dempsey is settling in nicely now and she has got used to being without the other dogs. We took her to a friends house the other night and she met Toby and Molly (their dogs). She now has some new friends that she enjoys spending time with.

Being new dog owners we were a little nervous as to how she, and they, would react to one another.

After a couple of moments sniffing each other they were soon running around chasing each other up and down the garden.

On Saturday mother and sister in law to be popped over for the afternoon. We took Dempsey on a nice long walk and on our way we met a man with 2 Bassetts. He said he had to travel to Cardiff and Cleveleys to get his as they were so difficult to come across. He said Dempsey was beautiful.

Then on Sunday we had some friends come and stay with their little 2 year old boy. Dempsey was very good and after a nice walk we popped into the pub with her. Everyone was fussing and cooing her.

A nice gentleman I met in the pub told me how rare Bassett Hounds were. He said he hadn't seen one outside of Crufts for 25-30 years!

We are very lucky to have her.

Dempsey Adventures

Dempsey is our beautiful Bassett Hound and we adopted her last Saturday after a friend came to us struggling to cope with 4 dogs and a newborn baby. We welcomed the chance to take her into our home with open arms.

Although she has only been with us a week we have already had some exiting adventures and found places that we never even existed close to our home.
